Anniversary foods

It's mine & my husbands 3rd wedding anniversary today. We're not doing presents this year, but i couldn't let the day pass with no acknowledgement, So for something nice I'm making him steak, mash potato and veg and attempting to make a pepper sauce (his favourite) not sure how its going to go, but its the though that counts... right??

But I did make something that he's going to LOVE! mint-chocolate cookie pops!

I also finally bit the bullet and decided to try my hand at macarons. I've been putting it off for months as it has seemed quite daunting to me. But I have to say that I'm rather proud of my first result.

There is definitely room for improvement, but here they are....

I made chocolate shells and put plain chocolate ganache is half and mint chocolate ganache in the other half. (again as a treat for hubby)

i want to make some more now... try and perfect them... wish me luck!

Getting Creative

I've been getting creative the past few days....

With Christmas coming up I made a box modified from HERE to fit two O.P.I nail polishes in, for a Secret Santa present and used a paper doily & ribbon to pretty it up a bit

The day after the Christmas party that the present is required at we have a wedding reception for my husbands cousin who got married in Vanuatu. So I made a card for them.

I had some left over card stock and ribbon from my daughters birthday& I have an abundance of purple buttons, but as I didn't have any purple thread on hand I used a sparkly multi coloured/silver thread which I think works beautifully.

The congratulations is hand stitched & slightly wonky, but it makes it look handmade!

I saw this idea on Pinterest & thought it would work brilliantly for this!

I'm looking forward to putting the Christmas tree up & wrapping all the presents now!!!
